{"id":54,"date":"2011-03-22T23:23:46","date_gmt":"2011-03-22T23:23:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/emtunc.org\/blog\/?p=54"},"modified":"2011-07-10T15:35:53","modified_gmt":"2011-07-10T14:35:53","slug":"get-firefox-4-to-ask-you-to-save-tabs-on-exit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/emtunc.org\/blog\/03\/2011\/get-firefox-4-to-ask-you-to-save-tabs-on-exit\/","title":{"rendered":"Get Firefox 4 to Ask You to Save Tabs on Exit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One weird thing I noticed when I upgraded to Firefox 4 is that you no longer get offered the option of saving your tabs on exit.<\/p>\n<p>This often came in handy for me at times when I needed to restart the browser for what ever reason (plug-in install, computer restart, etc) so I do wonder why it is disabled by default on Firefox 4.<br \/>\nPerhaps it is not used as often as I thought it might be&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, you can easily re-enable this prompt by following the simple steps below:<!--more--><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>In the URL bar, type <strong>about:config<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Search for the following and set them all to <strong>true <\/strong>(you can do this by either double clicking the value or right clicking &#8211;&gt; Toggle)<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>browser.tabs.warnOnClose<br \/>\nbrowser.warnOnQuit<br \/>\nbrowser.warnOnRestart<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>browser.showQuitWarning<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You should now be prompted to save your tabs when you exit Firefox (as long as you have two or more tabs open of course ;))<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Update:<\/strong> This should also work on Firefox 5.<\/em><\/p>\n<div id=\"_mcePaste\" class=\"mcePaste\" style=\"position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 0px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow: hidden;\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"mso-fareast-language: X-NONE;\">INSERT INTO LocalStock<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"mso-fareast-language: X-NONE;\">VALUES (1000, True, 10.20, 17.5)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One weird thing I noticed when I upgraded to Firefox 4 is that you no longer get offered the option of saving your tabs on exit.
